A sympathetic overview. Explains his posthumous reputation. Describes his paintings, and style, but not virtually nothing of his techniques. Shows many of the paintings, but only briefly.

Jan Vermeer is only rivaled by Rembrandt. Vermeer takes the mundane along with light, real-life depictions of texture, and the masterful blending of colors, and gives it depth, profound importance, and power. His paintings of women suggest an indiscernible beauty, which few may comprehend. A true master.
