The show does a good job of showing the struggles of Victoria in her effort to rule, despite negative opinions on her gender. Victoria reminded the world that women could rule and rule well, but it also lets you know that all good rulers have able advisers and reliable friends.

Most beautiful and heartfelt historical drama I've ever seen. I can see why it's so popular.

Better than Downton Abbey, not as good as The Crown. I do enjoy the sometimes unbelievable but historical facts that are woven into the stories. Victoria was an extraordinary woman who lived in interesting times!

As a huge fan of PBS masterpiece tv series (Poldark, Downton Abbey, Grantchester), this one did not disappoint. Absolutely loved Victoria! Jenna Coleman is an amazing actress and plays such a strong character. The casting, history, cinematic, and digital additions are all amazing. I have to be honest in saying that I didn’t know much about Queen Victoria prior and have been binge-watching this and can’t stop!

This is a great series on many levels. Historically accurate, spectacular scenery, designs, and costumes. Jenna Coleman gives a tremendous performance as Victoria. I was not expecting much from this but am now looking forward to season two.

I really liked it. The story, the acting was great, particularly Jenna Coleman (not to mention, she’s easy on the eyes), Tom Hughes, and Rufus Sewell. It’s going to be hard waiting probably a year before my library has Season Two.

Very binge-watch-able (hard not to, IMO). Excellent dialogue & engaging story. That it's based on real history (with info from Queen V's journals) makes it all the more remarkable.

I binged watched this in a single day. And then I went out and bought it. It's such a great show and I cannot wait to watch the next seasons. Victoria is complex and smart!

I admit I am the first one to complain about historical inaccuracies in movies. When this series originally aired earlier in 2017, I also happened to be reading the book "Victoria the Queen," by Julia Baird (an excellent book on Queen Victoria), and I was quite impressed at how faithfully this version of the story paralleled the known facts. Superbly cast and gorgeously shot. I was sad to see the series end and am greatly looking forward to the next one! if you love stories about the key figures in British history, this series is for you.

Exerpt from New York Times Review By MIKE HALE JAN. 13, 2017

As palace-bound melodramas go, “Victoria” is perfectly easy to watch, as long as you don’t mind that it never for a second feels as if you were watching something that could actually have taken place in the mid-19th century. Central to this effect is the casting of Jenna Coleman as Victoria. She plays the queen in much the same way she played the Doctor’s companion on several seasons of “Doctor Who” — spunky, sharp-edged, thoroughly modern. She’s immensely likable, and not in the least believable as a historical monarch.

But Ms. Coleman is surrounded by people who give the series a little more weight, particularly Rufus Sewell as a pin-up version of Lord Melbourne, Victoria’s first prime minister, on whom she has quite a bit more than a schoolgirl crush.
