Will there be war with China? This book provides the most complete and accurate assessment of the probability of conflict between the United States and the rising Asian superpower. Equally important, it lays out an in-depth analysis of the possible pathways to peace. Written like a geopolitical detective story, the narrative encourages reader interaction by starting each chapter with an intriguing question that often challenges conventional wisdom. Based on interviews with more than thirty top experts, the author highlights a number of disturbing facts about China's recent military buildup and the shifting balance of power in Asia: the Chinese are deploying game-changing "carrier killer" ballistic missiles; some of America's supposed allies in Europe and Asia are selling highly lethal weapons systems to China in a perverse twist on globalization; and, on the U.S. side, debilitating cutbacks in the military budget send a message to the world that America is not serious about its "pivot to Asia." In the face of these threatening developments, the book stresses the importance of maintaining US military strength and preparedness and strengthening alliances, while warning against a complacent optimism that relies on economic engagement, negotiations, and nuclear deterrence to ensure peace. Accessible to readers from all walks of life, this multidisciplinary work blends geopolitics, economics, history, international relations, military doctrine, and political science to provide a better understanding of one of the most vexing problems facing the world. I have to revise my original opinion of this book, as now I believe the author, Prof. Peter Navarro, to be the Real Deal [in his acknowledgements are people from American Enterprise, Brookings, et cetera, those institutions who pushed for the offshoring of jobs, technology and investment to China to begin with - - and please, please do not suggest Brookings is non-partisan or // liberal \\ - - anyone pushing for the privatization of everything and the offshoring of jobs is neither!].
I agree with everything the professor says, and applaud President Trump's appointment of Mr. Navarro to his administration [along with Gen. Michael Flynn], and I state this as one of the few remaining True Progressives [anti-Clintons, anti-Obama, who aren't the progressives they fraudulently claim to be!].
And most certainly the Business Roundtable, National Association of Manufacturers et al., are not only anti-worker, they are purely treasonous, traitorous organizations, and their members should be treated as such [it is called a firing squad].
This book should be read by one and all, and the entire China policy, whether a scam or some fools really believe in it [while raking in their money] is nicely summarized on p. 218.
Fantastic book, and people either better wake up to all the traitors among us, or be prepared to face the consequences!
Did the Russians hack over 25 million personnel records at the OPM - - no, it was the Chinese. Did the Russians hack into the Pentagon and BAE, stilling the plans for the Joint Strike Fighter - - no, it was the Chinese. Did the Russians hack into places to steal the Aegis system specs and parameters - - no, it was the Chinese. So why the demonization of Russia and delegitimization of Trump's presidency?
Because the hegemons want to continue their special relationships with the head choppers of Saudi Arabia and the PLA and China and bleed America and the world dry!
