Visions of the future and turning into people's thoughts come naturally to Clara Quinn thanks to her inherited Quinn Sense. Unfortunately, it offers no insight into her love life?or lack thereof?especially where hardware store owner Rick Sanders is concerned. But even though she's still nursing a broken heart, Clara offers Rick a home for his troublesome dog, Tatters. But Tatters is the least of Rick's problems when a dead body is discovered in the back of his truck. The victim was seen in the hardware store?and bludgeoned to death with a hammer stolen from there. Clara believes Rick is innocent, but she's not sure whether that belief comes from the Quinn Sense in her head or simply from a desire in her heart...

Very, very slow going. Main character comes across as wimpy and whiny to me. I'm done with this series.

I find the idea of Quinn Sense, a psychic ability to interpret dreams and see some of the future, interesting. Unfortunately, Clara Quinn does not want to have these abilities and ignores them when they come to her -- in spite of the fact that she has told her cousin she is willing to use the Quinn Sense to try to solve a mystery, a murder. This is the second book in a series. It's becoming annoying that Clara says she'll utilize her gift and then refuses to do so. She is not coming across as someone I admire, and I definitely like to admire the protagonists in my mysteries. I may give Allison Kingsley another chance, but not much more.
