Middle-school boys act like wild animals! When Annabelle returns from summer camp, her life is totally different. She's moving to a new house with her mom's new boyfriend, and that means starting sixth grade at a brand-new school. Birchwood Middle School is very different from her old all-girls elementary-the boys practically run wild in the hallways. And at home, Annabelle's new puppy is taking over the house and chewing on her clothes. But the puppy came with a training manual, so Annabelle might be able to get one thing under control. Unless . . . can you train a boy the way you train a dog? What tween girl can resist a novel / owner's manual for both dogs AND boys? Leslie Margolis lives in Brooklyn, New York with her fairly well-trained, six-toed mutt named Aunt Blanche, and her less well-trained husband, Jim. She is also the author of Girls Acting Catty and two young adult novels.

Luvd it, such and good book, it was true, hilarious and enjoyable. Good for any age!

I enjoyed this book because the connection that Annabelle made between the behavioral patterns shown by both dogs and the male species was refreshing and entertaining, and also useful for a girl like me who has 3 brothers and is usually surrounded by boys in the school and home environment.I am looking forward to treating my brothers like disobedient dogs.

I reccomend this book to any preteen looking for an entertaining, simple read. Annabelle is a sixth grade girl that has a love for summer camp. After it ends is when all the disappointment begins. Going to a new school, getting a puppy, and possibly a stepfather, is too much for her. While Annabelle learns to cope with the change in her life, she also learns something new; boys are dogs. She creates a mannual for her dog while keeping out of control boys in mind. This book captures the pure essence of middle school while adding a touch of humiliation and friendship.

This book was recommended to me and I didn't really like it. I felt like it was way to easy for me. But overall, it was a fun and entertaining book.
