having found the first season inscrutable, I thought I'd nevertheless plow on, and plow I did through the first episode of the second season still trying to figure out what's going on, and what do garburators, anyway, have to do with anything - I give up, I gave up, I've given up

It was good. I feel kind of let down by the series in a whole. I actually cannot figure out what it was about. It went in so many directions, and I am not really sure if it was solid or not. The acting and the directing are amazing. And the show in itself was well done. I must just be missing something when it comes to the story. I do agree that it was thought provoking and I did find myself thinking about it often, but I still am not sure if I was thinking about it because I was trying to figure out what the premise was (which was maybe about how we always think it's end times, as humans, and it never is). Or is the story was just about Kevin Garvey and his crazy family life. I feel like we were left hanging at the end. I still enjoyed watching it for the most part.

Did like The Leftovers. Couldn't get in to it. Do not recommend.

Good fantasy/sci-fi series that gets better with each season.

This has to be one of the most underrated TV series on television. A marvelous HBO production with outstanding writing, directing, and acting talent on display. One of the things I love most about the premier cable series are their attention to both the title design and music of their shows. THE LEFTOVERS has excelled in this department; both the first and second season have amazing title sequences and Max Richter has done an amazing job with the score. Why the television academy has not nominated this series for multiple awards is a mystery. Anyone who loves thought provoking, compelling, and unusual drama should watch this series. I eagerly await season three.

This series got much better in the second season. It was a good production, and entertaining with a few twists.
