Interesting character interaction and lively action. The last 20 percent of the book was a little confusing trying to keep track of names and the conclusion was disappointing. Even though, I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

I’ve never been too interested in fantasy fiction, but a friend recommended this book to me and now I’m hooked on the whole Nightrunner series. The world is fully realized, with a fast paced plot and rich, believable characters that draw you in to the story immediately. Largely a story of war and espionage in a fantasy setting; there is plenty of intrigue along with elements of mystery and the occasional shock of disturbing violence. A favorite “guilty pleasure.”

A good adventure, with likable characters and some very amusing dialogue.
