"When he regains consciousness, it's May 7--two months earlier. "
I liked the characters and the writing, and there are sometimes- overlooked historical and current events which are presented in the context of the story, but the central premise quoted above is never really resolved with the realistic tone of the novel.

This book as an hybrid : thriller, fantastic tale, love story, political novel ? the violent scenes are usually not his style and are a shock to a faithful reader.
Overall, a disappointment. However, I 'll give him a second chance just as he did to his hero in this story!
