I like the second season even better than the first.
I am hooked on this series. The facial expressions of DCI Banks are an additional treat.
A great adaptation of the books.
Banks does not exactly welcome Caroline Catz (of Doc Martin fame), but as Helen Morton, Catz adds a little more reality to the proceedings. Her attempts at "fitting in" also add a little humor to the serious crimes being investigated. Good supporting cast helps this series shine.
Banks is consistently gloomy throughout. Given the circumstances of what he has to manage, though, his sad-sack personality is understandable.
This one of the best of the legions of British detective series. The plotting is a little less convoluted and the lead characters a little more "real" than most shows. Quite enjoyable.
This was an excellent second season of _DCI Banks_. Great acting, and DI Helen Morton was a fantastic addition! I didn't like how her character was treated in the first two episodes, though. All of the stories are interesting, fast paced, and well acted, but they are deeply tragic. Still, this series is definitely worth watching. Highly recommended.
