There was a lot of politics in the world Sylvan created and it was very interesting. I really enjoyed learning about the vampires and how they run things. Everything was really thought out well and was a more unique take on vampire culture and politics. However, I never really felt a strong connection between Miranda and David; it felt more like Miranda was just grateful for David saving her life and giving her a purpose. For me there just wasn't enough scenes establishing their mutual attraction and building on their relationship.
