Deirdre has her hands full, as usual. Working as a Jill-of-all-trades for a zany billionaire like Zelda Zoransky means the daily grind is closer to a juggling act, and this week is no exception--especially when her side job is directing spiritual traffic in Zelda's pet cemetery. With ZZ hosting a party for some of the world's wealthiest animal collectors and a rare albino liger named Augustus in residence at the private zoo, Foxtrot is ready for trouble to take a big bite out of her schedule...

When I began this book I was quite excited - Dixie Lyle's writing style is humorous, the main characters are intriguing and their repartee is pretty cute. I love the element of telepathic communication between Foxtrot and her animal friends. I was also pleased that no human gets killed. This began as a fun ride into a new realm that includes some bizarre mysticism. However, at some point I got tired of the visiting characters who are not terribly nice. More importantly, I stopped enjoying the absurd aspect (animal gods fighting over a spirit) - it got a bit too far out. Although it reminds me of Terry Pratchett's work, which I usually like, it is not quite as well done. Mostly a fun ride, but not good enough for me to rush out and get the next one. I'll wait a bit then try another.
