A 4-part big screen adaptation of Rod Serling's popular and influential TV show. The first segment is directed by John Landis ("Trading Places") and is about a bigot (Vic Morrow) getting his comeuppance. Incidentally, Morrow and two others were killed in a helicopter accident on the set. Segment two is the weakest and most sentimental and was directed by Spielberg. Scatman Crothers ("The Shining") plays the "magical black man" role. Segment three is the looniest (in a good way) and was directed by Joe Dante ("Gremlins"). It concludes with an update of the famous gremlin on the wing story, with John Lithgow as a hysterical passenger who sees a monster that no one else does. George Miller ("Road Warrior") directs. As with most anthology films, it's uneven, but brings together good directors and actors and is enjoyable both for fans of the original series and fans of sci-fi.

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. Not too bad---good performance. Very predictable but still entertaining.
