Vortex is the second book in the trilogy written by S. J. Kincaid, the first book is called Insignia, which ended on a very shaking and suspenseful note. Now in the second book, Tom Raines is back at the Pentagonal Spire, to advance his training, but more comes in store as Tom and his friends are exposed to the social world. The main character, Tom Raines, is faced more betrayal and traitorous activity in the Pentagonal Spire, as things heat up in the war. With more humour and mystery, this book is an amazing bundle of emotions, that will guarantee that any reader will be hooked on to every word. Overall, this book is around a 4.5/5 stars or even 5/5 stars, following the first book, I recommend this book to 13-year-olds and older.
