Loved this story!
I never knew confederates actually did went to Brazil for refuge. I thought this story was interesting!
I loved the message of forgiveness that both characters had to go through, Blake and Eliza were so perfect for each other although the war would have separated them!
I cannot wait to read the sequel I'm sure it's gonna be great!

I Liked this book a lot , but not as much as the second one (and yes this is the first of a sequel.)
Escape to Paradise Series:
Book 1 - Forsaken Dreams
Book 2 - Elusive Hope
Book 3 - Abandoned Memories
I loved both book 1 and 2 they were filled with adventure , and LOVE=) Highly recommend this series.!!!!!

The book has a good plot. The main characters set sail on a perilous journey towards Brazil to begin a new Colony in the 1800's.
I did not like the fact that a few of the characters were mistreated and left out of the many of the goings on in the book, but such is the time period.
It appears this is the first of a sequel.
