Ray and Marie Benson killed 13 women before they were caught, tried and imprisoned. Five of their victims were never found. Six years later, psychologist Alice Quentin discovers a woman's body on the waste ground at Crossbones Yard. The wounds are horrifyingly similar to the Bensons' signature style. But who would want to copy their crimes? But the body at Crossbones Yard is just the start, and the killer may already be closer than Alice knows....
Enjoying a successful career in London, psychologist Alice Quentin stumbles on a murder scene that resembles the work of two imprisoned killers, a case that prompts her recruitment by police and places her life at risk.

I liked it. There is a lot going on, but it's pretty easy to follow. With her brother's issues, her best friend's issues, her issues.
Police have to get involved - not a pretty situation.

An average debut -- the first chapter certainly pulls one in. The protagonist's similarity to SJ Bolton's Lacey Flint could have been avoided. Also, will women writers of the mystery genre stop putting in romance? Romance is out of place in this genre and the protagonist here has men falling for her to the point it gets annoying. I wish the writer had developed the underlying Fred and Rosemary West theme a bit more instead. I will not be following this series.
