I found the main character mean, self-absorbed and shallow; I couldn't make it through the first chapter.

I laughed myself silly with this. Although it's filled with crude humor and may not be everyone's cup of tea, I enjoyed it and so far enjoying the second book in the series.

Crude, rude yet amusing look at the paranormal genre. A chick-lit book from a man's POV. Not for the faint of heart and if you are looking for more of the genre a la Charlaine Harris, look somewhere else.

The author's habit of 100+ footnotes was extremely annoying and distracting.

The author's habit of using footnotes throughout the book was very annoying and I also found the tone too crass for my tastes.
