Author menanges to provide a very poetic and lyrical viewpoint into the life of Elizabeth Barrett Browning. However, the story does move very slowly. As this is a work of historical fiction, I appreciated that the author included notes on the truth about the life of Elizabeth to help distinguish fact from fiction.
