Newspaperman Jack McEvoy decides to use his final days at the LA Times to write the definitive murder story of his career. Focusing on the case of Alonzo Winslow, a 16-year-old drug dealer in jail after confessing to a brutal murder, Jack realizes that Winslow's so-called confession is bogus and that the real killer is operating completely below police radar--and with perfect knowledge of any move against him.

Connelly is awesome but I enjoy the McEvoy novels the least.

After a bit of a slow start, the story really picks up about half way through disk 3 and keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next, right up until the end of the story!! Very suspenseful, well thought out and delivered plot. Really liked this one--9 out of 10 for me.

Easy to understand why this thriller's atop the NY Times bestseller list. The well paced plot of twists and turns is worthy for any lover of good suspense. 9 of 10 stars
