Ballet is always a great way to teach people about Shakespeare's plays. It is because the plot in ballet is simplified while the message is strongly delivered by the choreography and the facial expressions of the dancers. San Francisco Ballet Company is one of the top, top dancing companies in the world. Othello is one of the most important Shakespeare's works. The ballerina and the ballerino in this dance were well chosen, and their techniques were very impressive. Ballet is one of the most important Arts forms. This DVD - though recorded in 2012 - is still one of the best Othello ballet on DVD out there.
