A touching and fascinating documentary about the magical universe of Al Carbee, an outsider artist who created photos and collages using Barbie dolls bought at thrift shops. Carbee described himself as a "creative person" who had to create. "What can you do?" he said. Discovered by filmmaker Jeremy Workman and his girlfriend Astrid while they were on vacation in Maine, Carbee and his art were finally introduced to his community and the world. His magical universe, which so easily might have been lost without trace, is a place of strange wonders, and well worth a visit.
