I feel like I know Amy Schumer's vagina intimately. Kinda disappointed....so much of the same. I did laugh a few times, I did also cry and I said "me too!!" when she said she always wanted to look like Charlize Theron, but not like Charlize Theron in Monster! lol

If you are looking for advice or a self-help book, this isn’t the book for you. However, if you are looking for a funny book that is real, raw, and relatable; THIS IS IT!!!

In Amy Schumer’s first adult non-fiction book The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, she takes us down memory lane and shares stories from her life as a “daughter, sister, friend, comedian, actor, girlfriend, one0night stand, employee, employer, lover, fighter, hater, pasta eater, and wine drinker (Schumer: 1). Part autobiography, part memoir, Amy lets us in to her personal life and shares some pretty intimate details with her readers. Crude and rude language is often used throughout the book making this a product for mature audiences, while reader discretion is advised. I frequently laughed out loud while reading Amy’s book as I found I could relate too many of her horror/raunchy stories. Her clear, comical, and witty writing makes you keep flipping through the pages in order to find out more of her dirty secrets and crazy stories. This book is great for anyone who needs a good laugh and expresses a free-thinking viewpoint (especially for women over the age of 20). I loved this book! I really can’t say this enough. I loved this book! I felt like numerous times I was reading my life across the pages. Amy’s writing is real, raw, and truly relatable for many female readers. I would rate this book 5 stars out of 5 stars.

Amy Schumer is great, and the book reflects that. I laughed, got upset, laughed again, and thoroughly enjoyed the read. The way that she discusses sexual harassment and domestic abuse is so terribly important to the conversation we have. If you haven't read this yet... what are you waiting for?

This isn't the book you might think it is. Amy Schumer, known as a comedian, instead tells a lot of tragic stories about things that happened during her life. However, she uses those stories to explain how she became empowered over the years, and offers love, support, and advice for anyone in similar situations. I read this book alongside the audiobook and was pretty disappointed with the audio. Amy read her stories pretty monotone and some of the editing really sucked (some sentences just had the ends skipped, one chapter lost an entire paragraph at the end, and in one of her journal entry chapters a footnote was repeated and the correct footnote just skipped). But, for anyone wanting an inside look to Amy's life and experiences, she really does bare all and let's her fans into her personal life.

Amy Schumer is hilarious! I laughed out loud 3 times in the first 10 pages. The 30-something comedian isn't ready to call her book a memoir just yet, but writes about her family, dating, career, eating habits (often involving odd food combinations late at night), and growing up on Long Island. Since laughing and eating are two of my favorite things, this book was a perfect fit. I especially appreciated Schumer's ability to find a comedic angle even in the darkest of times, without minimizing the gravity or importance of the experience. I think both men and women would find the stories entertaining, but they are more relatable for women.

Enjoyed this book, mostly because I do enjoy her comedy. If you don't enjoy Amy, I see no reason to read this book. Surprised that she is so generous with her earnings, and that she came from a fairly affluent family(for a while).

Was not aware of here activities in trying to install some sanity in the gun problem this country has. Good on ya!

I loved this book because of how casually Schumer shifts from profane to profound. Ok, maybe profound is overstating it a bit, but she does have some meaningful thoughts on several sobering topics. Laugh out loud funny, but listen to this audiobook with your earbuds in - her brand of vulgar humor is not for everyone.

“I know my worth. I embrace my power. I say if I'm beautiful. I say if I'm strong. You will not determine my story. I will. ...I am amazing for you, not because of you. I am not who I sleep with. I am not my weight. I am not my mother. I am myself. And I am all of you.”

“Neal’s apartment went far beyond endearingly dirty. It was like Jumanji…I stalled … marveling for a moment at the fact that a man so expertly coiffed and immaculately molded, could emerge from this bottom-of-an-orangutan cage bathroom every morning.”

"Women are always expected to be the gracious hostess, quick with an anecdote and a sprinkling of laughter at others' stories. We are always the ones who have to smooth over all the awkward moments in life with soul-crushing pleasantries. We are basically unpaid geishas. But when we do not fulfill this expectation (because we are introverted), people assume we must be either depressed or a c**t. Maybe I'm a c**t anyway, but it's not because I don't want to blink and smile at someone as they tell me they ran cross-country in middle school."
