There Goes My Social Life

From Clueless to Conservative

"In 2012, actress Stacey Dash posted a tweet that changed her life. Up until that moment, Dash had lived a typical Hollywood life: Best known for playing Dionne in the 1995 teen classic Clueless, Dash had close friends in the upper echelons of the movie and music industries-and she had an Obama bumper sticker on the back of her BMW. But in 2012, sick of being disappointed by the Obama White House and growing more certain of her conservative beliefs, Dash endorsed Mitt Romney for president on Twitter. The backlash was swift and brutal. In There Goes My Social Life, Stacey Dash explains how she became a conservative, sharing incredible stories of her rough upbringing in South Bronx and her tumultuous Hollywood career to movingly illustrate her strong opinions about the value of a good education, the importance of family, the inanity of political correctness, and the power of personal responsibility"-- Provided by publisher.

I can't tell you how many times I looked at the cover of this book, saw this beautiful woman and thought, "She went through all that hell?"

I got a closer view of spousal abuse than I really care for, yet I'm grateful for the eye-opener, and certainly have come away with an extra measure of compassion.

When Stacy seemed to be jumping into bed with every man she met, I kept asking myself why I was reading this book. Perhaps the "happily ever after mentality;" thinking she wouldn't write a book without some sort of a better ending.

Stacy definitely addresses some political issues from a common sense place; I found her views helpful. She also comes from a black/Latino point of view.

She has overcome so much. It's a hard book but I would recommend it.

Brave woman, willing to speak honestly knowing she'll incur the wrath of others.

I highly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down. Stacey Dash was someone I found to be witty and open about her life and struggles. Don't miss this read.

I am adding to this review because I want people to know that my review was removed by someone. Based on the other negative reviews I would guess someone doesn't want a positive review on this book to be seen. There are plenty of excellent reviews of this book on line but I won't add the links. Just google them. I would guess the person who gave this book a half star did not even read it.

Stacey Dash is proof positive that a woman can be an extremely sexy and attractive lady, and still be a complete unsophisticated dunce in the realm of political theater! [Green Party, my dear!]
