I am shocked at the amount of people that only read a few of the stories. These are all excellent, and I actually found G.R.R.Ms one a little lacking, just because it was confusing with all the names. Read them all, better yet, listen to…

I rated this book based only on the GRR Martin novella, The Rogue Prince. It was a good novella but short! Lots of dragons and a really fun read! It was written from a historical standpoint less of a narrative. It was great and…

Some of these stories were excellent, others I skipped over after reading a few pages - hit and miss for me.

Tough Times All Over, Joe Abercrombie. Hard times in a stinking city, where each thief is sneakier, slyer, or stronger than the last, and the precious packet slips from one pair of cunning hands to another, onerous debts incurred and…

I only read two stories from this book. The Rothfuss story, The Lightening Tree, was brilliant. I recommend it highly for anyone reading The Kingkiller Chronicles. It might be a tad spolerish for those who have not. Martin's story, The…

This book is best summed up by Martin in the forward to this book: "everybody loves a rogue" - it's certainly true here. This collection features stories from a wide range of genres and authors, including some of my favourites: Patrick…

This review only covers "The Lightning Tree" by Patrick Rothfuss. I'm sure the other stories are varying degrees of brilliant, but Pat's work is what interests me at the moment. "The Lightning Tree" is a character exploration of Bast,…
