“You Good, you good?” not much in the writing. Not a great travel guide for south central. Gritty. Sad. Jake Gyllenhaal. Hmmm. Still trying to decide if I like him as an actor. October Sky is my favorite Jake film.

You are basically following two 'good' cops from the LAPD as they go about dealing with crimes and saving the innocent from harm. Often a handheld camera is used, which at times can be annoying. The portrayal of several super-villains is…

Produced, written and directed by David Ayers of TRAINING DAY fame, END OF WATCH is a postmodern, postmillennial ADAM-12; it chronicles, in a faux digital cinéma vérité style, the adventures of two honest LAPD officers, played by…

While it is wonderfully acted and written (as David Ayer's films tend to be) superbly. I'll be honest; it feels at times as though you are watching an extended episode of cops. But the building of tension is paced perfectly as well. It's…
This seemed to be a recruitment film for the police. The phrase "you're my brother" was uttered at least 400 times in the film. We found this film ridiculous showing a romantic view of cops. The actors were good but most of the…

I was hesitant to order this and my hesitation was justified. Overly violent and a lot of swearing, neither of which advanced the plot or seemed realistic. I The worst crime was I really didn't like any of the characters that much.

Glad I found this on a staff-recommended shelf at JP in Boston! David Ayer is the man here (wrote Training Day); keep an eye on him. -— Excellent wild hand-held/found video LA South Central ride-along. Even Jake Gyllenhaal is good; he’s…

Yaaaa tons of cursing for no reason. Its basically just a day in the life of a cop. Not bad. However since the ENTIRE MOVIE was fimed by a hand held it was extremly dizzy. My camera phone has better stability. Doing it to show the realism…

End of Watch has the energy, devotion to characters, and charismatic performances to overcome the familiar pitfalls of its genre and handheld format.

Decent "c0p buddies" movie with both lead actors doing a convincing job. Disliked the hand-held camera look right from the commercial popularization of it in "Hill Street Blues" but it is conducive to the story in this case.

This is not an action movie as much as a slow documentary. And I am not sure why the lead character needed to speak into a handycam when many scenes are filmed without that plot device.

Slightly interesting conceit in pretending that this is almost all video clips shot by one of the characters. Story and acting are nothing special.
