Spark creativity with art teacher Callie Darland in this engaging project that combines art and video game design! Inspired by the Super Mario Bros., explore how video games can influence art while creating your own playful landscapes. Learn about landscape art, draw horizon lines, add elements like landforms, warp tubes, and clouds, and complete your scenes with bright pan watercolors.
Callie has enjoyed teaching art to kids for years both independently and as part of the Stanwood Camano Art Advocacy Commission (SCAAC) and believes in making art fun and accessible to everyone.
This program is the first in a series of gaming themed summer art programs for kids. All materials are provided but we do have a limited number. To ensure your place, we recommend that you arrive promptly.
To request a sign language interpreter, complete this online form or contact your local library at least two weeks prior to the library event. Interpreters will be provided based on availability.
