Why Do Wildfires Seem to be Getting Worse?

Description

Does it seem wildfires are getting worse? More of them? Bigger? More destructive? Why is that the case? And then there is that wildfire smoke! This program will address all these questions and more including what you can do to help defend your family, home and business. This is a program you just do not want to miss!

Ted Buehner worked for the National Weather Service (NWS) from 1977 to 2018, and spent his last 23 plus of these years as the NWS Seattle Warning Coordination Meteorologist. Ted continues contributing locally by sharing his knowledge and experience with the emergency preparedness community. Ted also works as the KIRO-FM staff meteorologist, and does weather stories for mynorthwest.com. He produces the North Sound Weather Minute Podcasts and news stories for everettpost.com. He is also a licensed amateur radio operator with the Snohomish County ACS and DEM, and with the American Red Cross. Ted has a Bachelors of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences from Oregon State University.

This event will be recorded for later viewing on the Sno-Isle Libraries YouTube channel, and will be available for one year.
