STARS Training Series: Navigating Special Education Services

6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Description

Presented by Kristin Ainslie, M.Ed. education coach and trainer at the University of Washington, Haring Center.  The interactive and engaging training provides an overview of the special education referral process, what families can expect with an evaluation through the school district, and what services can look like if a child qualifies for them. This will also include strategies for helping families navigate this process, questions to ask, and ways of connecting and collaborating with the special education providers working with a child in the public schools. This training is designed to support anyone who works with preschool aged children.

Kristin Ainslie is a former special education preschool and kindergarten teacher, ECEAP teacher, curriculum writer, social skills teacher, and parent educator.
