Mill Creek Library Writing Workshop: The Art of 5 Focus Storytelling

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Mill Creek City Hall North

Description

There are infinite variations of any idea, but every story unfolds in the same way. Character arc, plot progression and ultimately, your reader's satisfaction all depend on five foundational building blocks. Join novelist and writing instructor Roberta Trahan for a hands-on workshop that will help you refine your writing process using the 5 Focus Story Structure as your guide.

This is a hands-on workshop. Come prepared to create a customized writing tool for your work in progress that works as an outline in the beginning, and as a synopsis when the time comes to send your story out into the world. Bring paper and pen or laptop – whatever you need to be productive.

Roberta Trahan is the author of two epic historical fantasy novels, including The Well of Tears. For nearly twenty years she has been a featured presenter at publishing industry trade shows, fan conventions, and writing conferences. She has served on the boards and steering committees of many writing associations and organizations, as a past writing instructor at both Bellevue College and Edmonds Community Colleges. For more, please visit www.robertatrahan.com.

Space is limited, so please register. Snacks and coffee will be provided. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Mill Creek Library.
