Mill Creek Library Writing Workshop: 5 Keys to Creating Compelling Characters

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Mill Creek City Hall North

Description

What do agents and editors mean when they talk about a character being “strong enough to carry the story"? Crafting characters that are complex and compelling is the goal of every writer, but how do we do it? Join novelist and writing instructor Roberta Trahan for an interactive workshop that delves deep into the motivations and behaviors of characters that readers love, and love to hate.

Come prepared with your work in progress outline or character ideas, and something to take notes and build an in-depth character profile.

Roberta Trahan is the author of two epic historical fantasy novels, including The Well of Tears. For nearly twenty years she has been a featured presenter at publishing industry trade shows, fan conventions, and writing conferences. She has served on the boards and steering committees of many writing associations and organizations, as a past writing instructor at both Bellevue College and Edmonds Community Colleges. For more, please visit www.robertatrahan.com.

Space is limited, so please register. Snacks and coffee will be provided. This program is made possible by the Friends of the Mill Creek Library.
