If you gaze long into the Abyss, the Abyss notices, and gazes into you. Join us for a short sojourn into the world of spirit, light, and shadow--an evening of ghost stories for grown-ups presented by storyteller Alton Chung. These stories are not for kids or the faint of heart. Most are reported to be true accounts of encounters of the other worldly kind. We will be traveling to haunted hot spots in the Pacific Northwest and talking about ghost dogs, the once thriving Shanghai trade, and its ghostly echoes. From there we will head for Japan to hear a strange tale of faceless ghosts, which have haunted Japan for hundreds of years. When the Japanese came to Hawaii to work on the Plantations beginning in the 1860s, they brought their traditions and their ghosts. In Hawaii, the veil between the worlds is very thin and there are many accounts of ghostly occurrences and things that go bump in the night. The stories will get creepier and scarier as the night progresses, and the evening will end with a Q & A session. Won’t you join us for an evening of terror? Spook you later.
This event will be recorded for later viewing on the Sno-Isle Libraries YouTube channel, and will be available for 30 days after the date of posting.
